| Description | Optical glass for microfluidic consumables is a high-performance substrate material specifically designed for the manufacture of high-end microfluidic chips, biosensors, and micro- and nano-optical devices. Unlike traditional soda-lime glass, this type of glass (typically borosilicate glass, such as Borofloat 33, or fused silica) offers extremely high optical transparency, excellent chemical stability, extremely low autofluorescence, good thermal stability, and high compatibility with various micro- and nanofabrication processes (such as photolithography, wet/dry etching, thin-film deposition, and anodic bonding). In microfluidic chip fabrication, optical glass is primarily used as a substrate or cover slip. Its smooth, flat surface serves as an ideal platform for high-precision photolithography and microstructural etching. Cured PDMS elastomers can be irreversibly bonded to it to form sealed microchannels. Due to its exceptional optical properties, it has become the material of choice for applications such as fluorescence detection, cell imaging, and spectral analysis. It ensures high signal fidelity and low background noise, making it a core foundational material for constructing high-end, highly reliable microfluidic devices. |
