Matexcel is a supplier of high-quality materials, offering magnetic bead products for IP, Co-IP, and ChIP applications. Our magnetic beads feature high binding capacity, low nonspecific background, and rapid magnetic response, enabling the efficient and stable capture of target proteins or DNA-protein complexes. This helps our customers achieve reliable and reproducible experimental results in research areas such as protein interactions, signaling pathways, and epigenetics.

Introduction to Magnetic Beads Used in IP/Co-IP/ChIP Experiments

This magnetic beads are surface-conjugated with specific ligands (such as protein A, protein G, specific antibodies, or streptavidin), enabling efficient and specific binding to target proteins or DNA-protein complexes. Compared to traditional agarose resins, magnetic beads offer simplified handling, eliminate the need for centrifugation, produce low background signals, result in minimal sample loss, and facilitate high-throughput or automated processing.

Protein A / Protein G / Protein A/G Magnetic Beads

These magnetic beads are surface-conjugated with Protein A, Protein G, or Protein A/G and can specifically bind to the Fc regions of antibodies from various species and subtypes. Antigen-antibody complexes can be captured simply by adding the antibodies directly to the sample and incubating them together; this is the most commonly used type in IP, Co-IP, and ChIP experiments.

Streptavidin Magnetic Beads

These magnetic beads are coated with streptavidin, which exhibits a high, nearly irreversible affinity for biotin-labeled molecules (such as antibodies, nucleic acids, and peptides). They are suitable for pull-down, ChIP, or RNA-protein interaction experiments under harsh elution conditions (high salt, detergents).

Antibody/Tag Magnetic Beads

Specific antibodies (e.g., anti-Flag, HA, Myc, GFP) or affinity tag ligands are directly covalently immobilized on the surface of the magnetic beads. Target proteins or complexes can be captured in a single step. These beads are particularly suitable for detecting weak or transient interactions in Co-IP and for enriching low-abundance proteins.

Other Immunoprecipitation Magnetic Beads

This category includes functionalized magnetic beads for specialized applications, such as ConA beads (which bind glycoproteins for membrane protein IP) and NHS/epoxy-functionalized beads (allowing users to conjugate any ligand for customized IP or pull-down assays), meeting experimental needs involving non-standard antibodies or unique sample types.

Advantages of Our Immunoprecipitation Magnetic Beads

  • High Binding Affinity and Low Background: High surface conjugation density and binding capacity, plus advanced blocking, reduce nonspecific adsorption of proteins and DNA for a high signal-to-noise ratio.
  • Speed, Convenience, and Sample Protection: Superparamagnetic beads enable seconds-fast magnetic separation without centrifugation, avoiding mechanical damage to protein complexes or chromatin—ideal for analyzing weak interactions.
  • Stability and Broad Applicability: Withstand high salt, detergents, and sonication for reproducible results. Suitable for manual and automated platforms for IP, Co-IP, and ChIP.
