Description Vibrio cholerae is the etiological agent of epidemic cholera. Serological classification is based on structural differences in the O‑antigen, with more than 200 serotypes identified to date; however, only serogroups O1 and O139 possess the genetic capacity to synthesize cholera toxin. As the key virulence factor of Vibrio cholerae, cholera toxin is encoded by the ctxAB gene derived from the CTXΦ bacteriophage, which inserts the toxin gene into the bacterial chromosome during infection. Cholera toxin is among the most potent diarrheogenic enterotoxins known and serves as a classical model for enterotoxin research. The magnetic beads in this product are covalently coupled with mouse anti‑O139 Vibrio cholerae monoclonal antibodies, allowing efficient, rapid, and highly selective isolation and concentration of Vibrio cholerae serogroup O139. Pre‑enriched samples are incubated with antibody‑immobilized magnetic beads; after magnetic separation, the enriched bacterial preparations can be used in downstream detection workflows including immunochromatography, ELISA, PCR, biosensor development, and gene sequencing.
Applications Uesd for the isolation and concentration of Vibrio cholerae from food, water, and other environmental samples.
