| Description | Vibrio cholerae is the causative pathogenic bacterium responsible for cholera. Cholera toxin, the primary virulence determinant of Vibrio cholerae, is encoded by the ctxAB gene, which originates from a lysogenic bacteriophage. Following infection of the host bacterium by the CTXΦ phage, the ctxAB gene is stably integrated into the bacterial genome. Upon reaching the human small intestine, Vibrio cholerae adheres tightly to the intestinal mucosal surface and undergoes rapid proliferation without invading intestinal epithelial cells or glands; pathogenesis arises from the secretion of cholera toxin during bacterial growth. The magnetic beads of this product are covalently conjugated with mouse anti‑O1 Vibrio cholerae monoclonal antibodies, supporting efficient, rapid, and selective isolation and enrichment of Vibrio cholerae serogroup O1. Pre‑enriched culture samples are incubated with the antibody‑modified magnetic beads, and after magnetic separation, the concentrated bacterial samples can be applied to downstream detection techniques including immunochromatography, ELISA, PCR, biosensing, and genomic sequencing. |
