| Description | TF-LNP, Transferrin-Lipid Nanoparticle, is an innovative drug delivery system. Lipid nanoparticles (LNP) themselves are composed of lipid materials such as phospholipids and cholesterol. They have good biocompatibility and degradability and can efficiently encapsulate various biologically active substances, such as nucleic acids (mRNA, siRNA, etc.), small molecule drugs, proteins, etc., to protect and transport them. Transferrin (TF) is a glycoprotein found in human blood that has a high affinity for iron ions. Transferrin receptor (TfR) is often highly expressed on the surface of rapidly proliferating cells such as Tumor cells. By modifying TF onto the surface of LNP, TF-LNP has active targeting ability and can specifically recognize and bind to TfR on the surface of Tumor cells, and accurately deliver the packaged drug to the target cells through receptor-mediated endocytosis. For example, in cancer treatment, TF-LNP encapsulating anti-cancer drugs or treatment nucleic acids can increase the concentration of drugs in tumor tissues, enhance the treatment effect, and reduce side effects on normal tissues, providing a powerful means for accurate treatment of diseases. |
