Description After implantation, the artificial bone is completely biodegraded and absorbed, ultimately replaced by newly formed bone. Degradation products (calcium and phosphorus) promote mineralization of the new bone, accelerating healing of bone defects.
Application The unique porous microstructure of the artificial bone meets the requirements for new bone and vascular growth; new bone formation begins at 2 weeks, remodeling and shaping commence at 4 weeks, and mature bone is formed by 12 weeks.
