| Description | RNA@LNP is a complex formed by RNA wrapped in lipid nanoparticles (LNP), which is of great significance in the field of biomedicine. LNP is generally composed of four components: ionizable cationic lipids, phospholipids, cholesterol and PEGylated lipids. Ionizable cationic lipids are protonated and positively charged under specific conditions, and combine with negatively charged RNA through electrostatic interaction, stably wrapping the RNA; phospholipids participate in building the membrane structure of LNP; cholesterol helps maintain the stability and fluidity of LNP; PEGylated lipids can prevent LNP aggregation and extend its circulation time in the body. This complex can effectively protect RNA from nuclease degradation, enhance RNA stability, and improve RNA delivery efficiency, helping it to cross biological barriers and accurately reach target cells. In mRNA vaccines, it can deliver antigen-coding mRNA to immune cells, triggering immune responses and producing antibodies; in RNA interference therapy, it can deliver siRNA, etc. to diseased cells to silence the expression of disease-causing genes. |
