| Catalog Number | PGF-008 |
| Size | 2µg;10µg;1mg |
| Description | PDGF-BB is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor family. All four members of this family are mitogenic factors for mesenchymal-derived cells, characterized by the presence of eight cysteine residues. The gene product can exist as a homodimer (PDGF-BB) or as a heterodimer with the platelet-derived growth factor alpha peptide (PDGF-AB), in which the heterodimer is linked by disulfide bonds. Mutations in this gene are associated with meningiomas. On chromosomes 22 and 7, reciprocal translocations involving this gene and the COL1A1 gene locus are associated with a specific type of skin tumor called dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, which is caused by dysregulation of growth factor expression. Two splicing variants of this gene have been identified to date. |
| Application | This product can be used for research on facilitating rat-specific vascular studies with rat PDGF-BB. |
