Product Infomation
Product Name Recombinant Rat Keratinocyte Growth Factor-2
Catalog Number KGF-004
Size 5µg;25µg;1mg
Description KGF-2 is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. Members of the FGF family possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in various biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion. FGF-10 exhibits mitogenic activity toward keratinized epidermal cells but has almost no activity toward fibroblasts, a pattern similar to the biological activity of FGF-7. Studies of the mouse homologous gene indicate that this gene is essential for embryonic epidermal morphogenesis, including brain development, lung morphogenesis, and the initiation of limb bud formation. The gene is also believed to play a critical role in the wound healing process.
Application This product can be used for research on facilitating rat-specific epithelial studies with rat KGF-2.
Molecular Weight 20.0 kDa
Species Rat
Source E.coli
Appearance Sterile-filtered white lyophilized powder
Purity ≥ 97% by SDS-PAGE, RP-HPLC
Activity It exhibits full biological activity compared to the standard. As determined by the thymidine uptake assay in BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors following dose-dependent stimulation, the ED₅₀ is < 0.5 ng/mL.
Redissolution It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized KGF-2 recombinant rat protein with sterile 18 MΩ-cm H₂O to a concentration of no less than 100 µg/mL, after which it can be further diluted into other aqueous solutions.
Formulation Freeze-dry the concentrated solution (1×PBS, pH 7.4, containing 5% trehalose) after filtering it through a 0.2 µm filter.
