| Catalog Number | TGF-004 |
| Size | 1µg;5µg;100µg |
| Description | TGFB2 consists of two identical 118-amino acid polypeptide chains linked by a disulfide bond. TGFB2 belongs to a family of five related cytokines that are widely expressed in both normal and tumor cells, highlighting the importance of these homodimeric proteins as multifunctional regulators of cellular activity. The three mammalian subtypes of TGF-β (TGFβ1, TGFβ2, and TGFβ3) signal through the same receptors and stimulate similar biological responses. They are involved in physiological processes such as embryogenesis, tissue remodeling, and wound healing. |
| Application | This product can be used for research on modulating immune responses and fibrosis in tissue engineering with human TGF-β2. |
| Molecular Weight | 27.08 kDa |
| Species | Human |
| Source | Nicotiana benthamiana |
| Appearance | Sterile-filtered white lyophilized powder |
| Purity | ≥ 97% by SDS-PAGE |
| Activity | The biological activity of TGFB2 was determined in vitro by its ability to inhibit the proliferation of mink lung epithelial cells (Mv1Lu). The ED₅₀ was < 40 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of 25,000 units/mg. |
| Redissolution | It is recommended to resuspend the lyophilized TGFB2 in sterile 18 M-cm H₂O to a concentration of at least 1 µg/40 µL, after which it may be further diluted into other aqueous solutions. |
| Formulation | Lyophilized from a 1 mg/mL solution in 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.4. |
