Description Transforming growth factor beta (TGFBeta) mediates many intercellular interactions that occur during embryonic development. Three TGFBeta isoforms have been identified in mammals: TGFBeta1, TGFBeta2, and TGFBeta3. All three TGFBetas are synthesized as very similar precursor proteins; they are all cleaved to produce a 112-amino acid peptide that remains bound to the latent portion of the molecule.
Application This product can be used for research on regulating extracellular matrix synthesis and cell differentiation with human TGF-β1.

Activity The ED₅₀ was determined by dose-dependent inhibition of IL-4-induced HT-2 cell proliferation and was found to be 0.142 ng/mL, corresponding to an activity of 7.4 × 10⁶ units/mg.
Redissolution It is recommended to resuspend the lyophilized TGFB1 in sterile 10 mM HCl to a concentration of 0.1 mg/mL, after which it may be further diluted into other aqueous solutions.
Formulation It was lyophilized from a sterile-filtered solution containing 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) and trehalose (protein to trehalose ratio of 1:20).
