| Catalog Number | PGF-010 |
| Size | 5µg;20µg;1mg |
| Description | Platelet-derived growth factor D (PDGFD) belongs to the platelet-derived growth factor family. The product of the PDGFD gene forms only homodimers and therefore does not form dimers with the other three family members. PDGFD plays a crucial role in wound healing. During angiogenesis, PDGFD induces macrophage recruitment, increases interstitial pressure, and promotes vascular maturation. PDGFD initiates a series of events that ultimately lead to mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis, including the infiltration of monocytes and macrophages and the production of extracellular matrix. All four members of the PDGF family are mitogenic factors for mesenchymal-derived cells; they all possess a core motif consisting of eight cysteines, seven of which are present in PDGFD. PDGFD differs from the α and β members of this family in that it possesses a unique N-terminal domain, the CUB domain. |
