Description OPG is a protein encoded by the human TNFRSF11B gene, also known as osteoprotegerin. OPG belongs to the TNF receptor (TNFR) superfamily. The OPG protein consists of 380 amino acids and is a secreted glycoprotein lacking a transmembrane domain; it is secreted into the extracellular space as a soluble decoy receptor. It exists as a 60 kDa monomer or a 120 kDa dimer linked by disulfide bonds. OPG mRNA is widely distributed throughout various tissues, with high expression levels in the liver, heart, lungs, kidneys, stomach, small intestine, skin, brain, spinal cord, and bones. As a decoy receptor for the receptor activator of nuclear factor κB ligand (RANKL), OPG inhibits osteoclast activation and promotes osteoclast apoptosis in vitro, and may also play a role in preventing arterial calcification. OPG therapy can prevent osteoporosis and vascular calcification and reverse osteoporosis.
Application This product can be used for research on regulating bone remodeling by inhibiting osteoclast activity in engineered bone constructs with His-tagged human osteoclast inhibitor.

Note Add an appropriate amount of sterile distilled water to dissolve completely, and dilute to a concentration of 0.1-1 mg/mL. Allow the solution to stand at room temperature for 15-20 minutes to ensure complete dissolution.
The resuspended protein solution can be stored at 2-8°C for approximately 1 week, or aliquoted and stored at 20°C to -80°C for 3-6 months.
For long-term storage, to enhance protein stability, it is recommended to dissolve the protein in 0.1% BSA at a concentration of no less than 10 μg/mL and store at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
