Description KGF-2 is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. Members of the FGF family possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in various biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion. FGF-10 exhibits mitogenic activity toward keratinized epidermal cells but has almost no activity toward fibroblasts, a pattern similar to the biological activity of FGF-7. Studies of the mouse homologous gene indicate that this gene is essential for embryonic epidermal morphogenesis, including brain development, lung morphogenesis, and the initiation of limb bud formation. The gene is also believed to play a critical role in the wound healing process.
Application This product can be used for research on promoting epithelial cell proliferation in skin and lung tissue engineering with human KGF-2.

Activity The ED₅₀, calculated based on the dose-dependent stimulation of FGF receptors in BaF3 cells (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake), is < 0.5 ng/mL, equivalent to an activity of 2 × 10⁶ units/mg.
Redissolution It is recommended to resuspend the lyophilized FGF-10 in sterile 18 MΩ-cm H₂O to a concentration of no less than 100 µg/mL, after which it can be further diluted into other aqueous solutions.
Formulation Freeze-dry the concentrated (1 mg/mL) solution (PBS, pH 7.4) after filtering through a 0.2 μm filter.
