Product Infomation
Product Name Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor Long
Catalog Number EGF-008
Size 20µg;100µg;1mg
Description Epidermal growth factor (EGF) has a significant influence on the differentiation of specific cells in vivo and is a potent mitogen for cultured cells of various ectodermal and mesodermal origins. The EGF precursor is believed to be a membrane-bound molecule that, upon cleavage by proteases, yields a 53-amino acid peptide hormone capable of stimulating cell division. EGF stimulates the growth of various epidermal and epithelial tissues in vivo and in vitro, as well as the growth of certain fibroblasts in cell culture. Long-chain EGF is a recombinant analog of human EGF, developed to serve as a substitute for recombinant human or native EGF in therapeutic cell culture applications. It comprises the amino acid sequence of human EGF along with a 53-amino acid N-terminal extension peptide.
Application This product can be used for research on extending EGF half-life and bioactivity in long-term tissue engineering cultures with human EGF long isoform.
