Description Epidermal growth factor (EGF) has a significant influence on the differentiation of specific cells in vivo and is a potent mitogen for cultured cells of various ectodermal and mesodermal origins. The EGF precursor is considered a membrane-bound molecule that, upon cleavage by proteases, yields a 53-amino acid peptide hormone capable of stimulating cell division. EGF stimulates the growth of various epidermal and epithelial tissues both in vivo and in vitro, and promotes the growth of certain fibroblasts in cell culture.
Application This product can be used for research on investigating EGF receptor binding with a Leu-21 mutant for structure-function studies in tissue engineering.

Activity The ED₅₀ concentration calculated from dose-dependent proliferation of MDCK cells is < 10 ng/mL, equivalent to an activity of 100,000 IU/mg.
Redissolution It is recommended to reconstitute lyophilized Epidermal Growth Factor 21-Leu with sterile 18 MΩ-cm H₂O to a concentration of at least 100 µg/mL, after which it may be further diluted into other aqueous solutions.
Formulation This protein was lyophilized from a 1 mg/mL solution and contains no additives.
Storage Store at room temperature for 3 weeks, or in a dry environment at -18°C or below. After reconstitution, store at 4°C for 2-7 days; thereafter, store at -18°C or below for future use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
