| Product Name | Protein L Magnetic Beads, 200 nm |
| Catalog Number | MGB-IP-004 |
| Size | 1 mL, 5 mL |
| Physical Specs | 200 nm |
| Description | Protein L Magnetic Beads are composed of 200 nm magnetic nanoparticles covalently attached to Protein L. The nanometer-sized beads provide an exceptionally large specific surface area, resulting in higher binding density, lower dosage requirements, and reduced non-specific interactions. Recombinant Protein L, a 36 kDa protein isolated from Peptostreptococcus magnus, specifically binds to the kappa light chain of immunoglobulins without interfering with antigen recognition. Unlike Protein A and Protein G, which target the antibody Fc region, Protein L binds via light-chain interactions. It recognizes a broader spectrum of antibody classes, including IgG, IgM, IgA, IgE, and IgD, as well as scFv and Fab fragments. Protein L binds antibodies from human, mouse, rat, rabbit, and chicken sources but does not react with immunoglobulins from bovine, goat, or sheep species. |
