Description	As a derivative of cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose is frequently used in the development of anti-adhesive biomedical devices due to its excellent biocompatibility and unique anti-adhesion properties. Oxidized carboxymethyl cellulose is produced by oxidatively modifying carboxymethyl cellulose, introducing aldehyde-active functional groups that enable nucleophilic addition (Schiff base reaction) with amino-containing compounds.
