Description Silica magnetic beads modified with hydroxyl groups are tailored for nucleic acid extraction and purification. A high density of silanol (hydroxyl) groups is grafted on their surface, enabling specific binding to nucleic acids in solution through hydrophobic interactions, hydrogen bonds, and electrostatic interactions under high-salt and low-pH conditions, while excluding other contaminants such as proteins. They facilitate rapid separation of nucleic acids from biological samples with safe and straightforward operation, greatly supporting automated and high-throughput nucleic acid extraction.
Applications Purification of PCR products; plasmid extraction; viral nucleic acid extraction; genomic DNA extraction from samples such as blood, tissue, plants, and microorganisms.
