| Description | LNP@heparin-CY5 is a multifunctional nanosystem composed of a complex of heparin and cyanine dye CY5, encapsulated by lipid nanoparticles. Heparin is a natural anticoagulant. CY5 is a near-infrared fluorescent dye with the advantages of high fluorescence quantum yield, good photostability, and excitation and emission wavelengths in the near-infrared region (not easily affected by autofluorescence interference of biological tissues). It is commonly used in biological imaging, molecular probes, etc. However, there are limitations when the two are used alone. For example, CY5 has poor water solubility and is easily cleared in the body. Lipid nanoparticles serve as carriers to effectively encapsulate the heparin-CY5 complex, which not only improves the water solubility and stability of CY5, but also enables targeted delivery to specific cells or tissues by modifying the surface of the lipid nanoparticles. |
