Hyaluronic acid may be used as a substrate to identify and characterized catabolizing enzymes such as hyaluronidase(s). Hyaluronic acid may be used in biomaterials research for the development of biological scaffolds for wound-healing applications and hyaluronic acid fillers in human skin.
