Description Giardia spp. are pathogenic intestinal protozoan parasites capable of infecting humans, livestock, fish, amphibians, and other vertebrate hosts. Cattle and sheep serve as major reservoir hosts; large numbers of Giardia cysts present in animal feces contaminate environmental water sources and food supplies through rainfall runoff, with outbreaks commonly occurring in summer and autumn. Giardia trophozoites adhere to the surface of small intestinal epithelial cells via their ventral adhesive disks, assisted by flagellar motility, directly causing structural damage to the intestinal mucosa including shortening, thickening, and atrophy of epithelial microvilli, thereby impairing nutrient absorption and inducing diarrheal disease. Clinical manifestations include acute diarrhea or asymptomatic latent infection, which may progress to chronic diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, and persistent fatigue. The magnetic beads of this product are covalently coupled with mouse anti‑Giardia monoclonal antibodies, supporting efficient, rapid, and selective isolation and concentration of Giardia spp. Samples are incubated with antibody‑modified magnetic beads; following magnetic separation, the enriched parasitic specimens can be analyzed using downstream detection methods such as immunochromatography, ELISA, PCR, biosensing technologies, and gene sequencing.
