| Description | DOX-LNP-PEG is a drug delivery system. Doxorubicin is embedded in the DNA double strands of tumor cells, interferes with DNA replication and transcription, and exerts harmful effects on cells. As a carrier, lipid nanoparticles (LNP) have good biocompatibility and can effectively encapsulate doxorubicin, protect the drug from premature degradation or removal, and improve drug stability. At the same time, LNPs can adjust particle size and surface properties to facilitate drug transport and distribution in the body. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is modified on the surface of LNP and has multiple effects. On the one hand, the hydrophilicity of PEG forms a hydration layer on the surface of LNP, reducing the adsorption of biological macromolecules such as proteins on its surface, reducing the probability of being recognized and cleared by the immunity system, thereby prolonging the circulation time of the complex in the body. On the other hand, PEG can reduce the interaction between nanoparticles, prevent nanoparticle aggregation, and enhance the stability of the system. |
