Description Single-core, double-core, and triple-core double-emulsion droplets prepared using our double-emulsion (double-wrapped) droplet generation chips can be used for encapsulating sensitive compounds, protecting active substances, and constructing aqueous micro-reaction systems. They hold extensive application prospects in industries such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and biomedical testing. Currently, the primary method for preparing double-emulsion droplets involves the use of coaxial glass tubes; however, drawbacks such as difficult assembly and poor reproducibility significantly limit their application. Our double-emulsion microdroplet chip enables the generation of various types of double-emulsion microdroplets (O/W/O, W/O/W, W/W/O, and G/W/O) through localized hydrophilic and hydrophobic modification of the glass chip channels. Combined with the double-emulsion microdroplet chip fixture, users can achieve stable generation of double-emulsion microdroplets in a short time with simple tubing connections.
Applications Applications in food formulations: Effective encapsulation of bioactive compounds to enhance their therapeutic potential and improve antioxidant capacity, bioavailability, and solubility. Drug delivery and controlled release: Double-coated microspheres encapsulating drugs are delivered to target sites, and controlled release of the drug can be achieved by adjusting the size of the microspheres. Applications in cosmetics: Target substances (such as sunscreens, plant oils, or active ingredients) are completely encapsulated by polymers to increase their stability and achieve sustained-release effects.
