| Description | Blank Liposome-Cell Membrane Hybridization is a biomimetic functional material preparation strategy that integrates synthetic liposomes and natural cell membrane vesicles through fusion technology. This technology uses membrane extrusion or repeated freezing and thawing to fuse blank liposomes with extracted cell membrane vesicles to form hybrid vesicles that combine the advantages of both. Cell membrane vesicles retain the natural protein components of the source cells, while blank liposomes provide highly controllable drug encapsulation space and flexible membrane composition regulation capabilities. The membrane fusion process is usually realized by physical means - after cell membrane vesicles and liposomes are mixed in a certain proportion, the polycarbonate membrane is repeatedly squeezed or repeatedly frozen and thawed at low temperatures, causing the two lipid bilayers to locally fuse and rearrange under the action of mechanical force or ice crystals, eventually forming hybrid vesicles with a particle size of about 100-200 nm, a surface that exhibits the characteristics of natural membrane proteins, and a drug storage space inside. Fusion efficiency verification techniques such as FRET can confirm successful integration of the two membrane components. |
