| Product Name | Aldehyde-Activated Agarose Magnetic Beads, 20-45 μm |
| Catalog Number | MGB-BM-026 |
| Physical Specs | 20-45 μm |
| Description | Aldehyde-activated agarose magnetic beads enable simple and efficient covalent immobilization of proteins on magnetic agarose supports, providing a valuable tool for affinity purification of antibodies, antigens, and other biomolecules. The activated matrix contains aldehyde functional groups that react spontaneously with primary amines on proteins or other molecules. In the presence of the mild reducing agent sodium cyanoborohydride (NaCNBH3), the formed Schiff bases are reduced to stable secondary amine linkages. Coupling efficiency via this reductive amination mechanism typically exceeds 80%, regardless of ligand molecular weight or pI. Once ligands are immobilized, the prepared agarose magnetic beads can be rapidly used in multiple rounds of affinity purification under magnetic separation. |
