Introduction | Gelatin Methacryloyl (GelMA) is an olefin double bond modified gelatin, which can be quickly cured into gel under the action of ultraviolet and visible light under the action of photoinitiator. It has good biocompatibility and formability and has been widely used in cell 3D culture, tissue engineering, biological 3D printing and other fields. GelMA inherits the excellent biological properties of gelatin and also has strong thermosensitive gel properties. Its solution is liquid when heated and forms a gel at room temperature (25°C). This property is very obvious at a lower concentration (5% w/v). Therefore, when GelMA is used in some scenarios with solution fluidity and high concentration requirements (such as microsphere and microneedle preparation), it needs to be kept heated at all times, which is not conducive to operation. In order to solve the above problems, our company has developed a new low-temperature sensitive GelMA product. This material will not form a gel at room temperature (25°C) (concentration can reach 20~30% w/v) and has good fluidity. Low-temperature sensitive GelMA does not need to maintain a high temperature during use, and it has unique advantages in applications such as photocuring 3D printing, microneedle preparation, and microfluidic microsphere preparation. |
