Introduction | Polylysine (ε-PL) is an antimicrobial peptide (AMP) produced by Streptomyces, which has broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against bacteria and fungi, such as Escherichia coli (E.coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus). ε-PL and its derivatives have good biocompatibility, antibacterial and degradable properties, and are widely used in biological tissue engineering fields such as antibacterial wound dressings, avoiding the side effects and drug resistance caused by traditional antibacterial drugs or metal ions (Ag+, etc.). Methacrylylated polylysine (PLMA) is a methacrylylated modification of polylysine by glycidyl methacrylate, introducing double bonds on the ε-PL molecule. Due to its portable molding method and good biocompatibility, the material system based on PLMA can be widely used in wound dressings, antibacterial coatings, etc. The PLMA product launched by our team has passed strict raw material screening and quality testing, and has stable physical and chemical properties. It solidifies into gel within 10 seconds under visible light irradiation, has good biocompatibility and antibacterial properties, and has strong material scalability, and can provide a variety of viscoelastic properties to adapt to different application fields. PLMA can be used in conjunction with other light-cured hydrogel systems to give such hydrogels better antibacterial properties, and obtain better hydrogel-based wound dressings and 3D printing bio-ink formulas. |
