Introduction Dextran refers to a homopolysaccharide composed of glucose as a monosaccharide, and the glucose units are connected by glycosidic bonds. According to the type of glycosidic bond, it can be divided into α-glucan and β-glucan. The hydroxyl groups on its side chain are very easy to be chemically modified to obtain multifunctional active dextran derivatives. Compared with other polysaccharides, Dextran can be slowly degraded by biological enzymes in the human body, and can also be decomposed by the right-transferase cleavage of microorganisms in the gastrointestinal tract.

Dextran Methacryloyl (DexMA) is a dextran molecule chain that is endowed with photocuring ability by introducing methacrylic groups. The DexMA product launched by our team has passed strict raw material screening and quality testing, and has stable physical and chemical properties. It solidifies into a gel within 10 seconds under visible light irradiation. Due to its excellent water solubility and good biocompatibility, and its resistance to nonspecific protein adsorption, DexMA-based material systems have been widely used in the biomedical field, such as reducing the formation of thrombi in blood vessels, reducing blood viscosity and drug delivery.
